While PRP involves the concentration of platelets and growth factors from the patient’s blood to aid in the healing of injured tissues, PRFM takes this a step further by adding a fibrin matrix to the platelet concentrate. The fibrin matrix acts as a scaffold that prolongs the release of growth factors from the platelets, potentially offering a more sustained effect in promoting tissue healing and regeneration. PRFM is often used to enhance healing and tissue repair, including orthopedic injuries and wound healing.
