Know This Before Buying Supplements

What are Supplements?

Supplements are just concentrated foods.

They provide an opportunity to take a highly purified, concentrated food and put it into a form that’s easier to consume.

Because of this, supplements allow you to make changes that you could never make with diet alone.

FDA Disclaimer:

Have you ever seen these words?:

These statements have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration. This product is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.

Those words appear on every supplement bottle you pick up.

Have you ever wondered why?

Well, if a supplement were intended to “diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent disease,” then, according to the FDA, it would not be a supplement at all.

It would be a drug.

If it’s a drug, it must be regulated as a drug.

Supplements are Supplemental

Supplements can be a crucial part of a healthy diet, but they cannot completely counteract bad dietary choices. If a bad diet is making you unhealthy, supplementation won’t reverse that trajectory.

What supplementation can do — very well, in fact — is fill in the holes that may remain in an otherwise healthy diet.

Beware of Toxicity!

Occasional exposure to toxins is very recoverable. Your body is adept at dealing with the unavoidable exposure to toxins.

Toxins become much more damaging when they are present in something that you consume regularly. Toxins can appear in dietary supplements more often than you might think.

That’s because the supplement industry does not receive the same regulation that medications do. As a result, pesticides, herbicides, and other poisons can easily creep their way into supplement bottles, often in alarming quantities..

When you buy supplements from Creating Health, you can rest assured that all products are third-party tested for toxins before sale and that all ingredients travel through a well-regulated supply chain.

Supplements are Fragile

DON’T BUY SUPPLEMENTS SOURCED BY AMAZON

Amazon warehouses are notoriously hot. Supplements are made of natural, organic chemicals and are therefore very vulnerable to denaturing in poor conditions. This can reduce their effectiveness or make them not effective at all.

Of course, Amazon is not the only source that sells supplements that have not been properly protected from destructive environments.

All of Creating Health’s supplements are stored in appropriate conditions to protect their potency.

Poor Accountability Leads To Poor Products

We are one of the few companies that will sometimes have to put supplements on backorder. Though this can be frustrating to customers, it’s essential to understand the reason behind this.

When ingredients become unavailable due to issues in the global supply chain (remember that little incident with the Suez Canal?), most supplement companies will simply accept the next best product on hand.

However, many of the ingredients which meet our standards can only be sourced from one or two farms in the whole world. If these ingredients become unavailable, our manufacturer will wait instead of pushing out substandard products.

Additionally, every product on our shelves undergoes third-party testing to ensure that it meets our standards of purity.

Supplement Dose Matters

“Window dressing” is the practice of putting tiny, unhelpful amounts of an ingredient into a supplement but hiding the actual amount by calling it a “proprietary formula.”

Supplement Details Matter

You can also “window dress” by using chemicals that aren’t the same as those used in studies, even if they have the same name. Again, this can be surprising to people who are not knowledgeable about chemistry.

For instance, a conclusive study might come out as evidence for the health benefits of magnesium. Because of this, companies will see a rise in demand for supplements with magnesium in them.

However, to cut costs, companies can forgo using the type of magnesium used in the study. Instead, they could use a much less effective type. Perhaps one that isn’t paired with an effective carrier or is already bound up with other chemicals.

All of Creating Health’s products are formulated to work, not just sell. That’s because their primary purpose is to help people just like you create health.

Fraud, Marketing, and Quick-Fix Products Endanger Us All

Quick fix products that force the body to make drastic changes (which is what a drug is supposed to do) can literally kill people. Unfortunately, the news is filled with fraudulent “supplements” that make it into thousands of people’s bodies before they are pulled from shelves due to poor regulation of the industry.

This hurts everyone.

That’s because responsibly formulated supplements are not only incredibly safe, but if used correctly, they can literally save lives.

Unfortunately, the more fraudulent, short-sighted products enter the market, the more the FDA will crack down on supplements in general.

If this were to come in the form of better quality control and regulation on a company-by-company basis, that would be amazing. We would start to see dishonest companies getting weeded out, making more room for the real supplements.

But, more likely, it will come in the form of a broad crackdown on supplements in general. That could prove disastrous for the progress of modern medicine.
