Mary Scalf, PA-C, is a board certified Physician Assistant eager to practice the patient-centered approach at MaxWell Clinic.
Mary graduated from Trevecca Nazarene University with M.S in Medicine after receiving her B.S. in Biology from Tennessee Tech University.
While gaining experience in rheumatology, she began to ask “Why does my patient have this problem in the first place?” instead of “What drug matches this disease?”
She is passionate about addressing the whole person and not just an isolated set of symptoms. Witnessing what traditional medicine has offered her mother’s chronic disease battle as well as her father’s dementia diagnosis, Mary is driven to use a science-based approach which strongly emphasizes root cause analysis and harnessing the body’s natural healing powers.
Mary, a Cookeville native, lives in Hendersonville with her husband Aaron and their two dogs, Tsali and Kilo. She enjoys an active life including camping, mountain biking, and CrossFit.
