Caroline Dowd, DNP, FNP-C

As a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner with a doctorate in nursing, Caroline brings a deep commitment to functional medicine and whole-person care. Her approach focuses on uncovering root causes and supporting the body’s natural ability to heal—helping patients feel energized, balanced, and well.

Originally trained in business at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, she began her career in banking. But her passion for health and wellness soon led her to pivot into nursing. She went on to earn her Doctor of Nursing Practice from the Medical University of South Carolina, where she deepened her understanding of integrative, patient-centered care.

Caroline specializes in hormone balance, metabolic and endocrine health, lifestyle optimization, and nutrition—with a particular focus on women’s health. She believes in the healing power of food as medicine and integrates nutrition, gut health, sleep, movement, and emotional wellness into her care plans.

Known for her compassionate presence and collaborative style, she builds strong relationships with her patients, listening intently and tailoring each treatment plan to meet their unique needs and goals.

Outside of work, she enjoys being in nature, creating new dishes in her kitchen, taking Pure Barre classes, traveling to the Carolinas to visit family, and spending time with her husband and their dogs.
